Justin Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked his entire career (2008-present) in community mental health. He spent his first few years providing outpatient substance use treatment but when an opportunity came along to work on the Linn County Crisis Team, he jumped at it and found that he had a huge passion for crisis counseling. In 2014 he was promoted to Crisis Supervisor, a position held for 7 years, where he got to instruct others in the approaches to crisis counseling and develop strong community partnerships. It was at this time that he found a passion for training and teaching others about mental health and has had opportunities to train staff in law enforcement, hospitals, schools, behavioral health clinics and community members. In August of 2022 he started his own training and consulting business, FundaMental Consulting, offering a variety of training that may be customized to an agency or individual's needs. He is also the current Program Manager for Linn County Alcohol and Drug. Justin has been married since 2007, has 2 children and enjoys playing basketball and golf in his spare time.
